There has been much excited over the recent developments at Walsall's waterfront with the new cinema being the main attraction and now the eagerly waiting people of Walsall finally have an opening date!
Its been officially announced that the cinema will open on March 18th!
Local Councillor Adrian Andrew was given a tour of the near completed cinema which is a part of a £12 million scheme and stated that
"It's a beautiful venue and represents fantastic value for Walsall's visitors. I'm very excited about this development which will greatly enhance the leisure package offered in the town centre.
The Light Cinemas offers something different from other chains. I for one, cannot wait until its completed.
It's another part of the jigsaw in the regeneration of the town, creating employment and leisure opportunities for people to enjoy. I'm delighted to have been involved in the project since its beginning."
As Light's fourth cinema in the UK, the new Walsall addition will have 1200 seats, 8 screens and a number of unique elements such as it's Baby Friendly Screenings and screens for autistic viewers and those with dementia.
The cinema will also have it's own Cafe/Bar, aptly named "The Green Room" in addition to the variety of restaurants on the complex which are Bella Italia, Chiquitos, Hungry Horse, Pizza Express and TGI Fridays.
This is great news for Walsall and will surely create more jobs and tourism in the area!
