Walsall returned from their splendid efforts at Orient the previous Saturday hoping to give a similar performance at home to Bradford City. It was always going to be a difficult game against a good outfit who were promoted from League Two last season who punished Walsall with goals either side of half time to record a 2-0 win. Walsall could only manage four shots on target all game when once again the game highlighted the need to find a quality striker who can make things happen-and find the net.
The visitors first goal, right on the stroke of half time, was a 30 yarder from Kyel Reid which knocked the stuffing out of Walsall and worse was to come in the 47th minute when Jason Hanson doubled the visitors lead. There were a couple of shots from Ashley Hemmings and Paul Downing which went wind. Try as hard as they could there was no chink of light for Saddlers who have now won just one of ther first five home games.
