Walsall faced another in form side - Coventry City - at the Banks's Stadium on Saturday following their suberb win at Swindon hoping to chalk up a third successive win. But Saddlers found City in a very determined mood indeed. They were in no mood to allow Walsall much time or space throughout the whole game. Chances were rare for both sides as they more or less cancelled each other out. It was stalemate at half time but early on in the second half Coventry City took the lead. A Carl Baker corner was met by Leon Clarke with a firm header. Richard O'Donnell made an excellent parry to keep the attempt out but the ball ran kindly into the path of Frank Moussa who was left with the simple chance of tapping home.
Try as hard as they could Walsall could not find the goal they craved and went down 0-1. This was Saddlers third home defeat of the season which is a little alarming so early into the season. Their away form and results is better so they do need to improve on home soil.
As someone who is passionate about all thats going on in and around Walsall I hope that you find the topics I raise are informative and thought provoking.
