Walsall Council has begun their second stage of consultation named "Preferred Options" for vital plans that will determine the future of Walsall by 2026!
They are inviting the opinions of you, the local residents, over the next 6 weeks up until Monday 2nd November.
So what are the plans?
Walsall Site Allocation Document -
The Council has proposed an allocation for homes for our communities, employment and other land uses such as public open spaces.
The Site Allocation Document will show all this in addition to areas that should be protected, including the Green Belt. The document will cover all of the borough except for town and district centres.
The Council is seeking your views on these proposals and on how they have chosen them.
Walsall Town Centre Area Action Plan -
This will feature sites which the Council has proposed to allocate in the Town Centre for new shops, leisure facilities and offices. This is in addition to improvements to other aspects such as transport, design and the environment.
The Council is seeking your opinion on these proposals and on how they have chosen them.
Community Infrastructure Levy (CIL) -
The Council is consulting on a 'Preliminary Draft Charging Schedule' for the Community Infrastructure Levy. This is a tariff based system to enable funds to be received from new development and re-invested into borough infrastructure such as open space, health, education and transport.
This consultation document sets out the rates at which CIL might be charged on some types of development and seeks your views.
