‘Nine Etchings’ is a new booklet by Gerald Kells and Fran Wilde.

It was developed as part of 2019 PoArtry Project, organised by the poet, Rick Sanders,
and Simon Meddings of the General Office Art Gallery in Stourbridge.

Poets and artists from across the Black Country came together to produce Art and Poetry
together, all leading to an exhibition from 24 May into early June where Poetry and Art
hung together.

The success can be judged by the 200 people who visited the Art Gallery for the Launch
Night. Fran Wilde produced a skeletal boat which reflected Gerald’s poem ‘Flood’ to reflect the plight of refugees. Gerald worked on poems based on Nine of Fran’s Etchings. One of those, ‘The Witch’ was hung in the Exhibition.

At the same time all nine etchings and poems were pulled together into the booklet. For
Gerald it was particularly exciting as he has written about art before but it has never
been possible to put the Art and Poetry together in a book.
