Walsall Railway Station is due to see an increase in capacity as new improved sevices and links to and from Wolverhampton have been made available.
There are also plans for a £75,000 scheme to improve Bescot Railway Station as well.
These improvements will include the upgrading of CCTV, lighting, the car park and public footpaths. These plans which have been put in place by Walsall council claim that these expansions will assist local services to improve and grow even more in the future.
This has come about alongside work on the Chase Line starting with the goal of producing a cleaner and more effcient service.
The new action plan states that "as developments within the town centre are delivered the need to maintain and expand an efficient public transport network is imperative.”
Once again this is great news for the Walsall area and with more capacity the train station will be able to attract more people to Walsall and potentially use our local businesses!
