Walsall Writers’ Circle was very pleased to welcome William Gallagher to their February meeting. Journalist, writer, blogger and award winning scriptwriter William (who has received fan mail from Russell T Davies!) talked to the members about how to write dialogue. He then set them some seemingly simple tasks. At the end of each exercise several people were asked to read out their work and William was able to give helpful critique for each one. When he had finished, members were enthusing about how helpful the evening had been, and so it was particularly nice to see that William had got something out of it too – see this link to his Self Distract blog.

The next meeting is on Thursday 12th March when member Rob Edwards will be running an Active Writing session called Every Picture Tells a Tale. Visitors are very welcome to come along. Venue is Walsall College Hub (opposite Tesco’s), room 210, 7.30 pm. £2.00.
