Walsall Writers’ Circle might be on Lockdown but we’re certainly not sitting on the couch wondering what to do with ourselves!
We had a fabulous meeting in March run by our very own Rob Edwards. This was an active writing session entitled Every Picture Tells a Tale and yes, we did indeed have pictures and by the time we had finished they told several tales and we all had work to take home and finish off.
Then came the news of Cornavirus and we were on lockdown. We’re keen writers so not being able to meet up was going to be a problem but we scratched our heads and came up with some ideas – how about a Skype meeting? Excellent idea – so far we’ve had two meetings like that with a third scheduled for Thursday 14th May. How about a Round Robin story? Actually two members came up with that idea and a story is on its way round now. What about some writing prompts? We’ve sent those out as well – a piece of furry fiction written from the point of view of an animal or a crime from the point of view of the criminal. What about the Writing Retreat which was scheduled for Sunday 3rd May? It went ahead with Skype, email, WhatsApp and Messenger available for anyone who wanted to join in.
