Willenhall Lock Stock rocks the park
On Sept 1st 2019 the 3rd Lock Stock music festival rocked Willenhall Memorial Park for 9 hours .
24 bands and solo artists entertained an audience of 3000 over 3 stages and genres .
The Co-op stage the WCR stage and The Robin 2 stage provided a show case for local talent entertaining the crowds with pop soul Motown blues and rock .
The weather was wonderful with just one threat of a shower that was held back after the Reverend Sue Boyce of St Giles Church blessed the festival and prayed for the shower to stop and it did .
Other VIP guests included Black Country Royalty Doreen Tipton who was seen rocking away during the afternoon and also pulling ice creams for an excited crowd of fans .
Festival founder Nigel Dutton said . This is year 3 of our 5 year project to create a sustainable festival for Willenhall that can continue under it’s own steam for years to come . Each year we are learning and tweaking the format and we are confident with the support of local businesses and the community we can deliver a festival that will have a life of it’s own and grow organically in the future . We want to hear from any local business that wants to support Willenhall Lock Stock and what is probably the best day out of the year . Just drop an email to Nigel.dutton@willenhalllockstock.co.uk
The feedback from the festival concurs that the atmosphere is fantastic and orders for next years party gazebos have already started to roll in .
Lock Stock is very grateful for the help of local volunteer’s, bands, artists ,sponsors and everyone who came and made Sept 1st a day to remember .
Planning for next year starts now and applications to play will open in January 2020 for just one month .
The Memorial Park is a perfect location for the community to come together and to quote Woodstock we’ve got to get ourselves back to the garden .
