On Sunday June 2nd, Walsall poetry night Yes We Cant welcomes Joe Cook as its headline guest at the Pretty Bricks in John Street. Joe is of Irish-Maltese heritage and is a dynamic performer of his work, which is influenced by hiphop as much as traditional poetry and laced with social commentary. This has led him to being described as 'The Streets meet Joe Strummer'. The 'Alf Ender spot will be filled by Shrewsbury poet Graham Attenborough, and four open-mic spots are available on the door. The night is a pay-as-you-feel event, with the hat being passed to pay the acts, and doors are at 7pm. Come along for a great night out!
