As the end of the year approaches, the Ahmadiyya Muslim Youth Association (AMYA) is organising their annual New Year’s Day street cleaning initiative in Walsall town centre. Communities across the region are warmly invited to join us in starting the New Year with a spirit of service and community care.
Each year, members of AMYA dedicate their New Year’s morning to this effort, equipped with brushes, bin bags, litter-picking sticks, and high-visibility jackets. While many enjoy the festivities of New Year’s Eve, AMYA youth begin their year by cleaning up neighbourhoods and keeping Britain beautiful.
“Cleanliness is a core tenet of our faith, and our love for our nation is deeply rooted in our beliefs,” said Rawahuddin Arif Khan, the Regional Youth Leader of the West Midlands Region.
“The New Year provides a meaningful opportunity to give back to our community and contribute to making Britain a better place for everyone. By dedicating just a few hours, we can make a lasting impact, and we eagerly look forward to participating in this year’s New Year Street Clean-Up.”
AMYA organises several community service projects throughout the year, including tree planting, fundraising, blood donations, and street cleaning, as part of their nationwide Mercy4Mankind campaign. Over the past two years, AMYA has raised more than £750,000 for British charities, donated 34 tonnes of food to food banks, provided 4.6 million meals, and dedicated over 57,000 volunteer hours to community service.
We warmly invite members of the public to join us in this initiative. For further details, please contact rq.westmidlands@khuddam.co.uk. Together, we can start the New Year with a positive and lasting contribution to our community."

Notes to the editor:
AMYA is the auxiliary body of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community, a religious and charitable Muslim organisation. With more than 9000 members spread across 150 chapters in the United Kingdom, AMYA frequently partakes in tree planting, supporting the homeless and food bank donation sessions. In addition, AMYA regularly runs initiatives throughout the year to support local community projects such as Warm Rooms, runs blood donation drives, and gets involved in Humanitarian relief efforts within the UK and abroad. The organisation focuses on helping young Muslims become better citizens and fulfil their religious obligations of serving God and humanity.
The spirit with which AMYA members embrace charitable and community activities is encapsulated by the following statement of the founder of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community, Hazrat Mirza Ghulam Ahmad, who said: "My Desire, my wish and my objective is serving humanity. It's my job, my faith, my inspiration and my way."
