After a few hours in Walsall we almost crawled from Asda (you can roll if you go down the slope) into the BCA. As usual after clothes shopping I was over excited, I pointed to my beer glass admiring it & knocked the beer everywhere! The lady very kindly got me another drink, & she really didn't need to. Mr DW had his usual pie, I'd already had pie that week so I had the Chilli, OMG I was not disappointed!!! The chips, & garlic bread just about sent me to heaven. I wished they did takeaway as I'd've took a batch home with me for the freezer. So look no further if you're in Walsall, as this is the place to be, great food, a decent drink, good atmosphere, & unbelievable prices, what more can anyone want? Thanks again BCA :-)

I arranged with the pub via email to have a dinner there with approx 20 people, they were polite and very accommodating and helpful as I was unable to give specifics on how many where arriving.
We arrived, had amazing food (as always, we have been a few times before). Can not fault the food. Made with time and care and taste lovely.
The variety of ales and other drinks is always impressive and quality is brill.
We will revisit many times and will always recommend!

We saw the reviews and gave it a try. Friendly service and was allowed to sample a cider before choosing. Food excellent. Wine by the glass is cheap compared to some restaurants. Will definitely go there again. Nice to find good English food as a change from Indian or Italian. We had four different choices, all of which were well cooked.

what a cracking boozer. Had my xmas eve drinks with a few friends here and loved it. Sipping a large selection of beers whilst playing a game of darts 👌🏼 Nice atmosphere.

Someone at another pub recommended that for good home cooked food and even better real ales that a quick trip on the bus to Walsall was a must do!
They weren’t wrong at all!
Brilliant choice of real ales with plenty local choice and the food was all fresh, home made and decent portions.
Will definitely be back 😊

This has to be some of the best food I ever tasted in entire my life! Do you do takeaway at all? I could stock up on my next visit for those occasions when you really can’t muster up the energy to cook. Or you could do a hamper for the freezer & I could give it to Mom as a C (can’t say the word, too early) present, for her freezer. Ooh you’d make a killing!!!! Anyway back to my review. As usual MrDW had the pie ‘’He ate all the pies ... ‘’. I know I sang that one before. I had my usual chilli, with chips, & garlic bread, oooh to die for!!!! This visit was a bit lively as we were later than usual, there was a fair few office staff in. Some sitting quietly discussing colleagues that weren’t there, miow! Boy F whose every other word was F, so not much convo going on with him. Then there was the biz meeting in the corner, where mature man talked louder than Boy F, so that shut Boy F up. So quite an entertaining visit in all, & it saves me repeating where the chip chop used to be 40+ years ago to MrDW ... That is the chip shop where I got the pot of tea for 10p for the market traders. See you again soon ;-)

We haven't visited this pub for a while but it's as good as ever. I nearly always have the liver and onions as they do it so much better than I do. Surprised someone said there was more gravy than liver as I couldn't finish mine as it was so large. I love lots of gravy anyway and always add the bacon. Brilliant pub meals and we've tried lots of them over the years and this pub comes out way higher than anywhere else. Well done to the chef (s).
