Never get bored or tired of popping in here. Had a nice copper ale: Tumbling Jack (see photo).
The owners are rather generous with their lovely displays of Oriental Lilies. Some nice artefacts on the walls, (again see photos).
My only regret is that I only had time for a half 😦

We went to the Black Country Arms in Walsall on a Saturday lunchtime. It stands halfway up a hill on a wide street which gives the building a nice, almost aloof feeling of watching the world go by even though it is close to a busy shopping area. One could watch Sky Sport TV or find a quiet spot as there is plenty of room in several seating areas on three levels. Decor is classy, clean and comfortable 'designer pub'. They have a good choice of real ales and a couple of ciders for good measure. The staff were particularly friendly and seemed to enjoy working there. We each ordered a variation on traditional black country fare ie faggots and peas and liver and onions. Food arrived nicely presented in a sort of 'nouvelle cuisine' style on square plates and was hot and tasty. At just over a fiver each the food was excellent value. Beer was good too. Overall I could not think of a better way to spend an hour in Walsall after a hard morning's shopping!

Visited on a Saturday afternoon for a pint and a meal. As always, the choice of beers was fantastic, and a couple of good ciders to choose from as well. Had the Chicken Jalfrezi, a very good pub curry, excellent portions, how could you possibly go wrong😊👍

OK I’ll stop now. Back again, me for the Chilli & lasagne for him this time. Best in the world it is & I’m dribbling just thinking of the garlic bread, & chips :-)’’. Real good tasty food, incredible prices, & staff that will love you more than your own parents do/did. I’ll be back after lockdown.

Stopped off here on the way to Manchester after reading some reviews. Friendly service at the bar and food very reasonably priced as quite a few things were £5 - £6 whereas similar dishes in other pubs can be £2 - £3 dearer. The pub was very quiet so there was not much atmosphere but that may be different in the evening. The menu choice is not huge but there are a few specials to bulk it up. The Steak and Ale pie was huge and good value at £5.50 coming with potato wedges and peas (mushy if you like them or garden if you prefer). I had fish pie that was very tasty but a little smaller for £5.75 - came with salad and garlic bread. Seemed to be home cooked food rather than something out of a packet. All in all, a good experience and I would revisit and can therefore recommend.

of a place is this, just like the good old pub used to be! The BCA is on 3 levels, they do a good selection of ales, have a decent menu, & are really friendly & welcoming. Lunch for 2 & a drink each come to around £16. He had cider, & I had a Krusovice (Czech beer) & what a lovely drink! I had the Grey Peas as I fancied a trip down memory lane, he had Steak & BCA Pie, & we weren't disappointed. I'll definitely be back!

I reviewed the BCA a few months back but there's no harm in adding a bit more. Popped in on my own for a pint and a bite and went for the beef lasagne verde and salad. It was clearly 'home made' and every bit as tasty as the food in nice Italian foodie places and at around half the cost. As usual staff were friendly and beer well kept. Faultless.

This pub is at the top of the market in walsall. They have a great selection of real ales and other beers. The food is really good with some great blackcountry fare. The food is always hot and really reasonable. The staff are very friendly and the pub itself very welcoming. Really worth visiting.

for me, I loved Walsall as a kid & worked on the market for a few years as a teenager, sitting upstairs in the BCA bought it all back to me. Just sitting there with my Czech beer looking at the side of Asda & remembering what used to be .... The old chippy where I'd get my tea pot filled for next to nothing, I can still see the woman's concerned face as she told me not to burn myself. Ooops I went off on one there! OK, so we had our usual, cider for him, Czech beer for me, & one of the best that I've ever tasted in my life. He had his BCA Steak & Ale Pie, I like to work my way down the menu so I went for the Cheese & Onion Pie, & what a lovely meal it was! All this for under £20! Staff as usual were most welcoming, even the regular customers welcome you. I'm just sorry I missed the beer festival 19-22 March. Well done BCA for creating such a good atmosphere!
