A group of us went for Sunday cavery at 5.30. The food was a little tired and looked like it had been sitting around for too long, however it was hot and tasty with lots of meat and vegetables to choose from.
The drinks service was very slow and staff had to be reminded to check on our order on several occasions.
I have been here a couple of times before and found it to be better if you book for a lunchtime sitting rather than the late afternoon.
Soon after we had finished our meal we had drinks in the bar, some of the staff were very noisy clearing up, throwing bottles into a tub and stacking trays, it wasn’t a nice atmosphere to sit and relax in and almost made us feel like we were a nuisance.

This was our second visit for a carvery on a Sunday lunchtime. The food was fantastic and the best carvery that I have had for a long time. The waiting staff are very attentive but we did have to chase up our drinks order and on one occasion we had double the order turn up. Will definitely be having a return visit sometime soon.

Recently booked a stay in one of the cabins , for one of there themed evenings. Reception was excellent (Carmel) she was very professional and nothing was too much trouble. I would definitely recommend this country club to anyone.

I needed a a place to stay for a night before a conference. I thought this country club would be a nice relaxing quiet location instead of a hotel, offering a little luxury being a country club. I'm a woman travelling alone.

I was placed in the farthest cabin from the centre, while all other guests seem to be men crashing after golf & bar. I was told on check in I'd need to repair any damage done after my stay (?!?) . The room was disappointingly dank, very dark & carpet badly stained. Extremely minimal room amenities. I asked for better pillows as there was just one extremely manky thin pillow on each twin bed - it was a real issue to get me better pillows. I have back & neck problems so really needed the pillows.
No Wifi - had to use my phone as HotSpot all the time.
Bathroom modern & elegantly renovated with walk in shower. No hotel type comforts offered - just a manky soap dispenser. Had to use hand towel as bathmat. White towels were thick & plush.
The mattress on bed was comfortable. The duvets tog 14 - not suitable for end of Summer so I had to sleep without any cover, waking constantly. Windows located at front of cabin on path & allowing easy access to the room if open - so I slept with them closed for security. A hot uncomfortable night.
2 coffee sachets, 2 tea bags in the room. No drinking glasses. I asked for herbal tea at the bar & was given a lot of them which was good.
I wanted to stretch my legs after a 4 hr journey so thought I'd investigate the lake I was told on check in that it was pretty. Then told I couldn't walk anywhere near the course at all until all golfers had departed - it was already getting dark. Golfers still out past dark so no walk for me as course not lit.
The TV remote had corroded batteries so couldn't use TV - no other means of switching it on.
If you're a lady wanting to put on some makeup in natural light in the morning - forget it.

A disappointing experience & a sleepless night before a long conference day followed by a long car trip home again. Wouldn't visit there again.

Been here a lot to use the driving range always a good laugh. Good golf shop with a good selection of stock. It has a proper golf course here to and the country club is opposite the driving range. Worth a visit.

Well organised & very friendly giving great value for money. The course is decent, the food excellent but more than anything you can see they want & welcome your business. 24 people on a golf weekend, 2 rounds of golf, well fed with decent accommodation was excellent value for money. We will be booking the same package for next year!

What a place, What a Carvery, Absolutely fantastic meal, food was piping hot, beautifully cooked to perfection, Didn't have alcohol so cant comment, The price was very reasonable as well, The Staff were very friendly, and the place was spotlessly clean, No problem recommending at all, though I'd advise you book because it gets very busy

Just returning from a Sunday carvery, table of 11. Going to be honest, we felt that the eating area was horrendously overcrowded resulting in tightly packed tables, little room to manoeuvre.
Although the carvery was okay, the service was poor. We ordered starters and after eating had to take the plates away ourselves and find waiting staff to remove.
The same thing happened after we had finished our mains: we had to ask for plates to be removed.
One waitress brought dessert menus but didn't return for the order. After 20 minutes we gave up and asked for the bill.

On reflection it seemed the priority lay in getting people through the door and seated, with no consideration for the actual dining experience.

Won't be returning.
