Visited recently with friends for a Saturday night catch up. Atmosphere, staff and food choice and quality all good. When eating they will also take your drinks order, serve at the table and add to your bill so more of a restaurant feel than a pub with food. Would definately recommend and will be returning with our own family.

Myself and two friends sat in the small bar and ate a very good lunch time/late afternoon meal. The barman was friendly and helpful from the off, and the meals were served very quickly after ordering. We had two lasagne and a pork chop meal, and they were all brought to the table nicely presented and steaming hot. I had my eye on an apple and custard desert from the start, and it didn't disappoint. Lashings of custard too.
Good quality, reasonable prices, friendly service.
I would use The Ivy House again.

Slightly lacklustre frontage, but don't let that put you off! The Ivy House is a homely, traditional venue with good, hearty food. A small menu, with something for everyone. I really like the bar area with its little nooks and crannies, but it could do with a little bit of an update and refresh to compete with other venues in the area, but I could be wrong? This could be the reason why I like Ivy House - it's charming characteristics perhaps its the wonky floor and olde worlde beams which sets it apart from its sterile counterparts?
Anyway, give Ivy House a chance! The food is lovely, home cooked, hot and good value. I will definitely be returning there!

A nice old pub with nooks and crannies but with a restaurant area that overlooks long, green fields. The evening menu offers a reasonable variety, from belly pork to spaghetti with meatballs, both of which were very tasty and came in ample proportions for less than £10 each. The service was excellent and the cask beers well kept. Will certainly visit again

All of our family have visited this establishment on many occasions and have always enjoyed the atmosphere here. The staff are always helpful and friendly and I like the decor. I suppose if you like noisy trendy pubs then this is not the place to go but I know which I would prefer, a better clientele. The food is always of a fine presentation and I have never had any hygiene problems. I have visited for over 15 years and will continue.

This is a pub with two small bar areas on different levels which has had its former small restaurant area converted into a third seating area and a large (plain and characterless) extension added on the back. For me this spoiled the pub but you can see why they did it - to squeeze several rows of tables in and increase the restaurant turnover. There is still the unspoiled bar areas and a very nice beer garden looking out across open fields. They serve food to bench tables in the beer garden. The food is better than the usual chain pubs and the lunch menu is very reasonable although the evening menu is a bit more pricey. It's a Banks' pub and so you do have a couple of optional real ale guest beers. Watch out for the poetic phrases and sayings painted onto the fence panels in the garden.

we booked a buffet to follow a funeral. The food was excellent as everything was freshly prepared and presented. The quiches were very tasty. The and coffee were provided. The staff were friendly and we were looked after very well.
Although we didn't make use of the garden, this area was beautifully laid out and would be safe for children to play
