Thoroughly enjoyed our Christmas Day luncheon. The carvery offered a good selection of well cooked food. We dined at 5.00pm and the staff were amazing, all friendly and offered their services with a smile.

Came for Christmas day with family, 10 in total.We have been before and for Sunday lunch.It was all superb no rush, staff very friendly.For the cost it was excellent, definitely do it again.It speaks for itself she.n every table is full.You prebook starters and desserts, then a Cavery for main.No pushing 1 table is sent at a time.What can I say except none of us ate untill following lunch time.Thank you all again Happy New Year xxx

Attended a Christmas meal with a large group of friends. Fast and efficient service nice food on this occasion entertainment was also included. Lay out of the room was lovely although some of the tables were laid out for more people than was comfortable

What a great night food and staff lovely stayed over in a Challet breakfast next morning could not fault it would recommend I also go for a carvary on a Sunday the best in the area with a wide selection of food

This is the best carvery in the area always spot on been several times and never dissappointed. Always 3 or 4 different meats loads of veg. Recommend to anyone atmosphere is good theme nights and tribute acts Xmas. Quiz and curry nights once a week. All food is excellent. Staff very friendly

My family and I visited here today for Sunday lunch,there were 7 of us and we had a very nice round table,plenty of room and well presented and clean.We all had the carvery and I have to say it is one of the nicest I've experienced good selection of fresh veg,although I don't count tinned sweetcorn as part of Sunday roast veg really,my other pet hate is almost raw broccoli as I like it actually cooked but that's personal taste,nice green beans cauliflower cheese pigs in blankets with delicious roasties and mash stuffing balls were tasty and the Yorkshire puds were ok,I had beef which was cooked well and tasty and the gravy was delicious so all in all we all agreed great tasting fresh Sunday lunch,just ditch the tinned sweetcorn and cook the broccoli a bit more and it would be a perfect Sunday lunch,most of us had deserts and we all enjoyed those not bad portion size of the puds either,however the afternoon was marred somewhat when the bill arrived which my father was paying on his card,I suggested to check the bill as my father would not necessarily do this,after checking the bill we found we had been billed for 8 carverys and 1 Wellington ie vegetarian meal!!! 9 meals on the bill I think not!! and extra drink added also,this was not acceptable and when it was pointed out I have to say the very young staff kind of grunted and said he would "sort it",So the amended bill came back again and again it was wrong!!!! This time 7 carverys and 1 Wellington at this point we were all getting rather cross and explained again 7 carverys only and to remove the extra drink put on our bill too..... eventually this was corrected and we paid the bill after we got a muffled "sorry about that"..... so good food but check your bill before payment!!
Note to staff,pay attention and get bill right!!,When mistakes are made maybe sincerely apologise and offer something as a sweetener always helps to get returning custom and a full good review.

20 of us booked in for a 60th birthday meal food was excellent although one starter was missing and everyone had finished theirs by the time it arrived. Carvery was excellent beef melted in the mouth and veg was perfectly cooked. The only negatives:
Not enough waiting staff I only saw 4 for a room of about 150 people
The tables and chairs were crammed so close together you had no room to eat and had to squeeze through to get to the carvery. Tricky manoeuvre when carrying a hot plate of food.
Think it's a case of trying to get as many people in regardless of comfort.
I would have rated this a 5 star if it were not for the negatives I've listed.

Took 20 family members out to celebrate my wife's 60th birthday and early retirement. The restaurant seated us all together in the conservatory. Although busy we all had a fantastic carvery meal, didnt have to stand in a queue for to long to get our meals. A really lovely place to come and celebrate whatever the occasion. If you are looking to celebrate anything at all then I would recommend calderfields, lovely views overlooking a beautiful golf course. A big thank you to everyone calderfields golf and country club

The carver is nice. With excellent value. Good place to host a party with good staff. Lovely golf course and surrounding area. Not stayed in the hotel but family who have have informed me it is money well spent.

Visited today for Easter Sunday lunch with eight family members and a baby.
We could not fault the staff for there organised approach in a very busy restaurant.
We asked for extra things for the baby it was sorted immediately.
The food was very good and plentiful.
Thank you to all the staff for making our Easter lunch special.
