I have had a very good weekend here and would certainly return. My personal preference for a golf course is one with hills so on this occasion I dipped out as it is flat. However with credit to the green keepers it is well maintained with quick and true greens. The bunkers have a good quality sand in them and it almost become a pleasure playing out of them!
The cabins have comfortable beds and with them being located next to the 18th it was quite a novelty to walk off the course and be able to dump your clubs.
On the food front we had a breakfast buffet on the first morning and on the 2nd it was served to our table. In the evening there was a 3 course meal where you are offered 5 choices. The lamb shank was awesome as was the ice cream.
Everyone was very friendly and helpful, both staff and local golfers which helped the weekend be enjoyable. Should you wish to do so you can jump in a taxi to Walsall for a fiver but to be fair the lager in the club house was £3.50 which is not unreasonable.
Thanks to all the staff at Calderfield you do a great job with a smile on your face and a special good luck to Melissa, hope next year is a success for you.

We stayed overnight following a family celebration in the restaurant. Our cabin was very comfortable with all the usual facilities. My only complaint was the poor lighting. Although we prefer soft lighting there was nowhere bright enough for make up. The staff were most helpful and friendly and we enjoyed a good breakfast the following morning. Would certainly stay there again.

Just spent 3 days here and overall a great break with a few minor issues. First the golf ,great course with some of the fastest greens I have played on although there were patches on some of the greens that were under repair . The starter gave us a few tips about the course and he also has a drinks and snacks cart that he drives around the course . Good quality sand in the bunkers if you happen to go in them . The club house is good with a golfers lounge with a pool table and large screen t.v with Bt sport but no Sky t.v . We payed 3.80 for a pint of Coors light . A taxi into walsall for a night out was between 5.00 and 7.00 pounds. The food we had was of a very high standard indeed and the service was excellent and the carvery on Sunday was one of the best I have had in a long time .

The log cabins look relatively new and are pretty basic and as previous posters have said the lighting is very poor. The rooms also have no chairs in them and no benches outside for you to sit on and I think they need to look at adding these .The bathroom was of a good quality with a great walk in shower . My major worry was that on checking in we were only given 1 room card and unfortunately I lost our room card on night out in Walsall but didn't notice until I got back to the cabin at 1.00am in the morning . There is no night porter or anyone at all in the club so no means of getting into your room if this happens .Luckily we were a group and I had to spend the night in another room on the floor . Overall I would recommend this club and would return .

If you like golf and value, this is as good as it gets. Booked a 3 day/2 night stay with 15 mates and got 3 rounds of golf, two nights in a log cabin with evening meal day 1, breakfast and evening meal day 2 and breakfast day 3, all for £120.00. The course was in good condition, the cabins modern and clean and food/ service very good. Obviously, being a popular venue, it was not exclusive to us. A wedding function was booked on the saturday but still enough room for us. Regarding dining, breakfast was waiter service with tea/coffee, toast and cereals buffet style. Service was prompt and friendly with food freshly prepared. The bar service was good but a big let down for me was lack of choice and no draught ales. The accomadation was ideal for us with self contained cabins. Each cabin had two comfortable single beds, cupboard space, heating and a flat screen wall mounted telly. The bathroom was modern and spacious, with a large shower (no bath). Being set alongside the golf course, total peace is ensured for a good nights sleep unless your room mate snores a lot!. I've enjoyed many golfing weekends over 20 years and this is the best value for money yet, Highly recommended.

Could not disagree more with the previous review!!! We were also on a 3 night break (party of 10) at Calderfields last weekend. Venue was ideal, rooms fantastic and course of a good standard for this time of year. We were made aware at the time of booking that Sky Sports was not available which was fair enough, I am aware of many golf clubs which do not have Sky Sports, my home club included. Staff extremely helpful and accommodating, will certainly be returning and would always recommend. Great value for money.

What a great place to play golf and relax. we stayed in one of the log cabins which were spotlessly clean and comfortable and had great views over the golf course. The staff were especially helpful and catered for all our needs not only for golf but all round accommodation. The food was brilliant especially the breakfast which really sets you up for the day. All in all a great 3 days in great company and ideal accommodation for golf, would highly recommend this venue to any golfers.
