Environment - clean, relaxing and cozy Value for money - can't be compared. I would happily pay more for the whole experience

Have been to Da Vinci's several times in the past and have always had good food. This time was disappointing. Most of the others in my party seemed satisfied with their meals. We all, except my son, ate from the set Sunday menu. I really wish I had not. I had duck rolls to start. I've had them before and enjoyed them but this time they were not served with a side salad but raw chopped onion! My main was chicken parmesan which I found to be dry and tasteless. I decided to give dessert a miss and had a liqueur coffee instead (that was very nice).
The service was good and I am sure we will go again and hopefully the food will be better then.

We went for my sons birthday meal having been recommended by others and were impressed. It was like taking a step back in time for me having spent my youth in the Hop N Grape which was in this building.
The food was excellent- especially the steaks which two of us had. The service was pleasant and efficient.
To get a bill for the four of us at only £80 was a pleasant surprise.
Will definitely return.

Visited for a birthday celebration and we were made to feel welcome immediately by the staff. Although quiet for a Tuesday evening the food was good and served promptly. We had their fixed menu with complimentary wine. If you didn’t want to travel far this is a good choice for a local restaurant

Visited as part of a work group. This was a very mixed experience. On our table of ten some were delighted others very disappointed.
The fixed price menu offers great value for money. The free bottle of wine per pair is however not great quality and we much preferred the bottles off the wine list which were not expensive. The rack of lamb was superb and as nice a piece of lamb as you could want however the sauce was a very average gravy. Fresh veg were ok. The canelloni starter was ok but needed a much richer cheese sauce. The panna cotta was much too firm, the gelatin could be cut by half. All said however at under £18 this is far from expensive. Staff were very good.

Went with MeJulie for a little bit of ‘us’ time which was really nice ❤️
First time at the restaurant
Last time I was there it was the Hop n Grape!!
We had three courses and a few drinks and it was a very nice evening.
Calamari and Camembert to start both lovely
Julie had the spaghetti carbonara and said it was really nice
I had the steak Diane and started the wrong end because there was gristle, the waiter/manager came over and asked how the meal was and I explained about the gristle, he said would you like me to change it? I said no it’s ok I’ve got through the worst now, he insisted and said it would only take 5 mins so I eventually agreed. Sure enough a short while later I had fillet steak cooked perfectly and with fresh accompaniments. Creme brûlée and limoncello dessert to finish both really nice
That level of service is rare nowadays and left both of us impressed and wanting to go back again, so fair play 😱👍A potential ‘never going there again’ moment recovered to a WILL go there again
Great customer service would definitely recommend

We have been visiting this restaurant for the last 7 or 8 years maybe at least 8 times a year as a minimum and have yet to have a bad meal or bad experience, all in all it’s very positive.
We have visited as a couple, with friends, business associates and other family members and children.
The fixed price menus on Sunday (10.95 for 3 courses) and the fixed price mid week menus with wine( around £16 a head) offer great value and unlike a number of other restaurants the portion sizes for meals on the fixed price menus are the same as on the A La Carte menu.
The owners and staff are very friendly and make you feel most welcome and are helpful to children and the elderly alike.
In fact for the last 4 or 5 years my wife’s firm have even held its Christmas meal at Da Vinci’s.
The atmosphere is very relaxed and I guess the only downside is. That it’s at the top of a long flight of stairs and the only way for elderly or disabled to gain access is by such stairs which can be a bit of a problem.

My biggest gripe when going out for a meal is coming away hungry. No chance of that here, the portions are decent sized! We were also impressed by the friendliness and the efficient staff considering how busy the restaurant was on a Saturday night.
We enjoyed our meals and will def. come again. As others have said it's up a flight of stairs and it's well worth booking ahead.
Our only gripe (and that's why it's a very good, not an excellent) is that we were offered some olives alongside our bread while waiting. We assumed (wrongly) they were free. Not so, they cost us £2.50 and we only ate two! That's two very expensive single olives!
