... That they have a little gem in their midst. Walsall leather museum is everything a small museum should be. The leather museum has polite and friendly staff and knowledgeable local volunteers who make the place feel warm and welcoming. The museum also has an excellent, very reasonably priced family friendly cafe! Again, manned by excellent staff. This really is a great little museum and worth a trip.

We have driven past this museum scores of times on the way to visit our grandchildren in Wolverhampton and always wanted to visit.
We had the opportunity on Saturday and wished we had gone years ago.
Unfortunately we did not get there until 2.45. The tea room closed at 3 - so that had to be the first place we went.
A lovely little tea room with lovely lady serving drinks, cakes and snacks. The 5 of us had drink and cake for very little cost.
Then on to the museum. An hour was no where near enough time. But that's ok. We know we will return. Lots to see and do. The smell of leather is wonderful.
The children got to make a key ring each ( indeed, the adults wanted to make one too ).
They could press a pattern onto the leather.
There are 2 lots of toilets and a well stocked little sales shop with high quality leather goods as well as affordable little items for the children to buy.
There are activities on during the school holidays for the children.
It's another of those museums that doesn't sound like a " must " to visit - but believe me you will miss a treat if you don't go. And it's FREE to get in.
