One of the charities I'm proud to be for Patron is children's charity the Shannon Bradshaw Trust.
Since 2002 the Shannon Bradshaw Trust has been raising money through fundraising events which have helped many sick children and their families throughout the North West. Some of these activities have supported organisations like The Aplastic AnaemiaTrust, & The Anthony Nolan Trust, and they have generally promoted the importance of becoming a blood donor.
Sadly when a child becomes unwell and needs to be treated in hospital for sometimes weeks/months, this also puts pressure on the parents as they wish to be by their child's side. Many parents are forced to take time off work which also means they struggle to pay the monthly household bills etc. On many occasion the Trust will step in and help ease some of the financial pressure so that the parents can stay focused on supporting their child.
The Shannon Bradshaw Trust also has a caravan in Blackpool which parents and their child can go to for a change of scenery and to have some fun. Something there has been little chance of whilst in hospital.
Funding for all this comes from the huge generosity of our supporters that attend our numerous events!
