Warrington went to the KC Stadium on Friday knowing that a win or draw would see them finish in pole position claiming the league leader's shield for 2011.
Although Hull managed to start well, it was Warrington that once again proved to be the ever so powerful & dominant side! The Wolves held a good lead by going into half-time 28 – 6 up!
Warrington’s attacking & defending was second to none throughout the second half. Throughout the 80 minutes it was Atkins & Riley that delivered two excellent tries each along with Michael Monaghan, Joel Monaghan & Chris Bridge! Bridge & Briers secured the Goals.
The game ended 34-12 to Warrington which sealed them as the “League Leader Champions” for 2011. The last time Warrington achieved this was at the end of the 72/73 season!
The “League Leaders Shield” will be presented to the Warrington Wolves at this Friday’s play off game with Huddersfield at The Halliwell Jones Stadium – KO 7.30pm.
