Warwickshire and Northamptonshire Air Ambulance (WNAA) is a charitiable organisation serving the Warwick area and beyond, and has saved numerous lives since it was established in 2003.
Warwickshire and Northamptonshire Air Ambulance provides a valuable and much needed emergency medical service to the Warwick area. It supports a population of over 1,076,000 people covering 2,000 square miles centred on Warwick.
Warwickshire and Northamptonshire Air Ambulance has the fastest and busiest helicopter in the UK. The Augusta 109 is a state of the art aircraft based at Coventry Airport, near Warwick, it can fly at 200 miles and hour and can reach any part of Warwickshire within 9 minutes.
The helicopter provided by this charitable organisation carries a senior doctor or consultant as well as paramedics to the accident, which means that they are able to start life-saving medical care and medication at the scene of the accident. They are able to continue this care on the journey to the most appropriate hospital. The chances of survival and reduction in severe disabilities are greatly enhanced if critical care is commenced in the Golden Hour after the accident.
Warwickshire and Northamptonshire Air Ambulance responds to an average of 110 emergencies per month, in the Warwick area. Each mission costs £850. This local charitable organisation needs the local population to donate over £1.4million each year to provide this much needed service to the Warwick area.
