The BUY LOCAL campaign is being launched to encourage more people to support local businesses in the Warwick area. Warwick has a very high percentage of local businesses compared to other towns so it is very important that people support the independent businesses that offer great service and unique products.  Buying Local can also reduce the impact on the environment.

DID YOU KNOW...?

When you BUY LOCAL your money boosts the local economy!

• Research from the Federation of Small Businesses suggests that BUYING LOCAL has a much greater impact on the local economy versus national chains or out of town providers.
• It is estimated that around 50% of the money spent in independent businesses goes back into the local economy--> through other local businesses, local suppliers, local services & local staff. This money stays in the local economy for longer & therefore helps more businesses locally.
• Whereas with national companies it is thought that as little as 5% of goes back into the local economy!! (statistics according to Federation of Small Businesses.
• So the money you spend has a far greater impact on the local economy if it goes to independent businesses.

This campaign covers ALL business types around the area. The benefits of BUY LOCAL apply to local shops, local service providers, local trades people... 

The campaign also aims to make more local businesses themselves aware of choosing local suppliers over national chains or out of town service providers in order to keep even more money in the local area economy.

** Note: It would be naive for this campaign to aim or expect people to use local independent businesses 100% of the time.  However even a small increase in BUYING LOCAL would have a significant impact in growing & protecting the local economy, its businesses & the environment. **

• Help the local economy- buying local keeps more money in the local area for longer
