Quite a few local attractions have reopened during the Easter break ahead of the peak visitor season.  But even if you live locally don't assume all the attactions are for tourists as you'd be overlooking some great value days out for all ages.

Here's a mention to a few of Warwick's attractions that are perhaps lesser known:

Having re-opened last weekend for the "sunnier" seasons Hill Close Gardens, Warwick is a great place to visit for a relaxing day out. Located next to Warwick Racecourse, Hill Close Gardens boasts some very pretty restored Victorian gardens plus many refreshments including tea, coffee, homemade cakes, fruit and more.  The centre also hosts some great events throughout the year including many historically themed ones.  Free entry for children under 12 (when accompanied by a paying adult) & £3 entry for adults. ** Special Offer ** - Print a 2 for 1 entry voucher for Hill Close Gardens, Warwick HERE.

Warwickshire Yeomanry Museum (underneath Warwick Tourist Office) is a museum paying homage to Warwickshire's Volunteer Cavalry Unit, formed in 1794 to defend the United Kingdom from the Napoleononic Invasion Scare. It is FREE entry for all ages, although donations are encouraged to help with the upkeep of the museum.  Open Saturdays, Sundays & Bank Holidays from Easter Weekend to end of October.  Located on Jury Street, Warwick.

For the best view of Warwick & the surrounding areas climb up St Mary's Church Tower, Warwick.  The tower is 174 feet tall & is the highest point in Warwick Town meaning it gives a great view & can itself be seen from miles away. At last time of checking entry was £2.50 per person.

For the less energetic St Mary's Church itself is an amazing building with plenty to see, founded in 1123 & housing the tomb of the Earl of Warwick Richard Beuachamp. For visitors entry is FREE although donations are recommended for the upkeep of the building. St Mary's Church is of course a working church with regular services & musical events. After all that you might need a drink or meal! View our Warwick Restaurants Guide HERE or visit Cafes & Coffee Shops, Warwick HERE.
