CHILDHOOD obesity and the issues surrounding the problem were tackled head-on by young members of a Warwick theatre group when they were filmed for a popular Channel 4 documentary.
The Embarrassing Bodies production team visited Playbox Theatre Company members at the Dream Factory in Shelley Avenue last Thursday to prepare an episode to be screened as part of the show’s spin-off Embarrassing Bodies Kids series in 2013.
The programme, which will focus on childhood obesity, its causes and ways to prevent it, will feature workshop director Owen Young and several seven and eight-year-old members of the company, who were given the task of choosing between tempting treats and healthier options.
Playbox director Emily Jane Quash said: “Feedback from parents has been really positive and the children had a great time.”
Further details about the filming will be available closer to the time the episode is screened.
