When we see business and community coming together it’s a cause for celebration and such an event took place at The Harlequin Shopping Centre on Friday (16th) when creative arts charity Create brought together students from two secondary schools in Watford for a performance sponsored by The Harlequin.
Create’s professional artists delivered three photography and six music workshops with students from Breakspear and Parmiter’s Schools culminating in a performance and exhibition at The Harlequin Shopping Centre.
The objective is to raise students’ self-esteem and showcase their work; it also clearly demonstrates The Harlequin’s commitment to its local community.
Create’s Co-Founder and Executive Director ,Nicky Goulder points out “Create’s mission is to reach out to the most disadvantaged and vulnerable people in our society and we are delighted to be working with these very special young people. Disabled and non-disabled students are rarely given the opportunity to mix and get to know each other and I am thrilled that we are able to give them this opportunity in such a creative environment.”
