Thebestofwatford is launching a "BUY LOCAL" campaign. Shoppers in Watford and the surrounding areas of Bushey and Abbots Langley will begin spotting the white stickers appearing in shop windows near them from this week.
Why buy local? The more of us that shop locally the better it is for the life of the community and the environment we live or work in. According to some estimates as much as 13% of the town centre shops are empty and this is a situation that is replicated across the country. Empty shops not only represent a loss of facility (let alone the loss of the living of the shop keeper), they are a blight on the landscape.
Thebestofwatford supports local business generally and of course we want to see our town centre and outlying villages flourishing. So do try to "SHOP LOCAL" whenever you can and do your bit to support local shop keepers and businesses.
