Anyone who lives in Watford is welcome to come along to the former Household Waste Recycling Centre site and pick up a bag of high quality compost - made from the green waste the Council collects every week via your kerbside recycling scheme. All of the waste collected from your green bins - which includes food scraps, cardboard, grass cuttings, hoover dust, shredded paper, leaves and much more - is taken to West London Composting (WLC), to be made into nutrient rich compost, which is suitable for use as a soil conditioner or mulch.
So come along to the Household Waste Recycling Centre on Wiggenhall Road (WD18 OFB) between 2pm and 7pm on Thursday 12 May and claim your bag.
For more advice on composting, and to see how you can order a compost bin for just £14, visit our website at www.watford.gov.uk/composting or call us on tel: 01923 235946 during office hours.
