The request comes at the start of this year’s annual canvass, when all local council in the country deliver electoral registration forms to all households. To vote at an election, eligible electors must be on the electoral role.
All households in Watford will have received an annual canvass form from the council. It lists all the people currently on the electoral register for the address. Electors are asked to simply add anyone who should be registered and isn’t on the list and cross out anyone who no longer lives at the address. The forms should be signed and returned to the council as soon as possible.
Registering to vote is quick and easy. It is the only way of making sure you have a vote at election time – you are not automatically registered if you pay council tax or if you have registered previously.
