Local enterprise agency for Hertfordshire and Bedfordshire, Wenta, have been awarded the National Award for ‘Local Enterprise Agency of the Year’ at the National Enterprise Network’s (NEN) annual awards ceremony which took place on Friday 15th November at the British Library in London.
The awards, sponsored by Barclays, were announced and presented by National Enterprise Network Chairman, Paul McEldon, and Rekha Mehr, Entrepreneur in Residence at The Department for Business, Innovation & Skills at the dedicated ceremony of the NEN’s Annual Conference. The awards are designed to recognise excellence in the delivery of enterprise support, encouraging the exchange of good practice and the development of improved services and organisations.
Fighting off strong competition from other business support organisations across the country, the NEN judging panel stated that Wenta took away the prestigious ‘Local Enterprise Agency of the Year’ award “due to its impressive efforts in providing a huge range of enterprise support services through its dedicated advisory services, bespoke education programme and business centres; as well as its new concept of business incubators and unique online advice portal – making itself approachable to clients whether face to face or using remote/social media channel.”
The judging panel added, “Wenta has demonstrated its focus on serving customers, and investing in products and services is at the heart of its business strategy – an approach which has enabled Wenta to stand tall after 30 years in the sector.”
Having received previous national awards for educations links, marketing, innovation and the future of enterprise support, this is the fifth award that Wenta has been awarded over the last few years.
