Pick up your free kitchen caddies

Watford residents now have three more opportunities to collect a free kitchen caddy from Watford Borough Council.

Members of the recycling team will be in Asda supermarket on Wednesday 12 May between 12noon and 3pm, and at Charter Place Shopping Centre on Friday 14 May and Wednesday 26 May between 10am and 1pm. If residents are not able to make any of these times, a free kitchen caddy per household is available from the Customer Service Centre at the Town Hall.

The nifty little kitchen caddy, which fits easily on a kitchen worktop, is a great place to store food waste before adding it to your green wheeled bin. Every fortnight, we collect your green wheeled bin and take it to be made into nutrient rich compost. If you don’t have a green wheeled bin, we can deliver one free of charge. Please contact tel: 01923 235946 during office hours, or email: environmentalservices@watford.gov.uk

The kitchen caddies can also be emptied into home compost bins – which are available to Watford residents at a reduced price from Recycle Now.

Since Watford residents started recycling in Watford in 2001, the amount of waste we recycle has increased from just below 13% to nearly 41%. For more information on recycling in the town, please visit: www.watford.gov.uk/recycling
