Watford Borough Council is planning £1.5m of improvements to local parks and recreation ground and is looking for members of the public to view the plans and give feedback on the proposals.

The money has been allocated to work on restoration of Callowland Recreation Ground, Oxhey Park and King George V Playing Fields as well as some other improvements to the two cemeteries in North Watford and Vicarage Road.

This follows more substantial funding earlier in the year which saw playing areas in Knutsford, North Watford and Waterfields given a facelift, which are either already completed or nearing completion.

“We are continuing to improve all our parks as people tell me they really value and appreciate them," said Elected Mayor Dorothy Thornhill.

“I am delighted we can continue to make improvements across the town and hope that everyone will use the consultation to have their say!”

The consultation events will take place on Wednesday 13th June at Callowland Recreation Ground Bowls Club, the Oxhey Park consultation will take place at St Matthew’s Church Hall  on Thursday 14th June and the King George Playing Fields even will take place on Thursday 21st June in the Hollywell Pavillion, Tolpits Lane.

All three events will take place between 6.30 and 8.30pm.
