Elizabeth Timmons, who has volunteered for Watford charity Peace Hospice Care for more than 25 years was honoured with a Lifetime Achievement Award at the charity’s Volunteers’ Awards Event held at the Royal Masonic School for Girls in Rickmansworth on Sunday 4th November.
More than a hundred peopleattended the event which was hosted by the charity to celebrate the achievements of its volunteers and to thank them for their support.

Speaking about the award, Elizabeth Timmons said: “It really is an honour to receive this award. Peace Hospice Care is very special to me – the patients, their families, volunteers and staff have all been wonderful and I’m pleased to support this caring worthwhile charity in any way I can.”
Elizabeth is a regular volunteer for Peace Hospice Care and helps out in the Inpatient Unit serving meals to patients. She also helped to set up the Irish & Holyrood Hospice Support Group which has raised thousands of pounds for the Hospice.
Declan Carroll, CEO of Peace Hospice Care, said: “Elizabeth has been a loyal volunteer over so many years and I can’t thank her enough for her support. We have more than 400 volunteers who help us in so many ways including serving meals to patients, tending our gardens and helping us maintain the Hospice building as well as helping at fundraising events, volunteering in our charity shops and visiting and transporting patients. We really couldn’t do what we do without them. My heartfelt thanks to the winners and all of our volunteers for giving their time so generously in support of our cause.”
Rob Holland at Sports and Trophies supported the event by providing engraved glass trophies for the winners. Linda Anderson from The Kitchen , Croxley Green, provided the celebratory cake.
