Peace Hospice Care has launched its newest community fundraising event - Bunny Hop, taking place from 22nd March – 18th April. Adults and kids in the community are invited to hop around their home, garden, workplace or school to raise money for the Hospice.
Participants select a date and distance for their hop and will receive bunny ears in the post. A downloadable event date poster is available so those taking part can share the date and time of their hop.
Claire Lyden’s daughter Neave, and Neave’s friends, are taking part in a Bunny Hop. Claire said: “Neave, Milo, Maddox and Sienna are all bunny hopping for Peace Hospice Care, a charity close to all our hearts. Neave and Milo’s grandad was cared for at the Hospice in 2012 and Maddox and Sienna’s grandpa received care at the Hospice too, and their nana at another local hospice. We can’t wait to take part and hope to raise as much as we can from our Bunny Hop.”
Kara Hopgood, Community & Events Fundraiser at the Hospice, said: “We are very excited to have launched this new event for our 30th anniversary year which everyone – from families to individuals and schoolchildren, can enjoy safely whilst following Government guidelines. You could hop alone, or with family, in your garden or home, or as part of your classroom bubbles at school. Hospice staff have been practicing their hopping, with members of our Executive team doing a hop outside the front of the building. The money raised from this event will enable us to continue supporting people, and their families, with life-limiting illness, in our local community.”
