Watford's play parks have been given a facelift!

New play equipment is now in place in two of Watford's most well used playgrounds.

The play park at Chater Infant School has had a new playhouse, roundabout and multi-play table installed. And the playground on St. John's Road now has a new aeroskate, climbing frame, gyrospiral, play panels, roundabout, spring car and toddler train. Both playgrounds have also been completely refurbished with safety surfacing.

These are not the only parks being improved in Watford. Over the past 12 months, both Callowland and Leavesden Green Recs have had lots of new play equipment installed. Aspen Park Drive and Lea Rec, Woodside Playing Fields and Oxhey Park are currently undergoing improvements and work will soon be starting to improve Norbury Avenue, Jellicoe Road, Stamford Road and Oxhey Green.

Dorothy Thornhill, Mayor of Watford explained; "We know how important children's play areas are to residents of the town and so we work hard to maintain our 40 areas of parkland and open space.

"These two playgrounds are wonderful for families - do go and check them out if you haven't been!"
