Starlight Walk is back in Watford

The Starlight walk is back in Watford for 2012 and to celebrate the Olympic year, they are going to make it the best Starlight Walk yet.

With a new, earlier start time of 10.00pm and with great pre-walk entertainment thanks to Heart 96.6 FM, more than 1,500 women will be taking part to raise money for The Peace Hospice.

In the six years since it began, the walk has raised almost £1,000,000 for The Peace Hospice, but the charity still needs support. Late last year, they had to temporarily close two of their beds after falling short of the £3.5m they need every year to keep caring for over 1,000 people with life limiting illness across South West Hertfordshire.

Registering for this great event to raise money for a fantastic local charity, costs £16 for adults and £10 for under 18's, which includes a t-shirt and light breakfast after the event. Plus there are two routes available - 13 mile half marathon and the shorter, wheelchair friendly, six mile version.

For more information on the event, route and details of how to sign up visit thebest of Watford's event page, or official Starlight Walk website.

The walk starts at The Colosseum on 23rd June, heads down Watford High Street, Bushey Arches, Rickmansworth Road, Croxley Green and back through the candle-lit Cassiobury Park back to The Colosseum.
