Watford Museum offers free education and learning services for schools and community groups in Watford

Local teacher, Yvonne Kennedy, from Queens School has been using the handling collections at Watford Museum to create new resources for teaching  at GCSE level.

The resource boxes provided by the museum include:

  • World War Two
  • Evacuee's Suitcase
  • Victorian Domestic
  • Victorian Childhood
  • Toys

  The contents of the box will vary but all boxes will contain some of the following - original or replica artefacts, posters, photographs, costumes and newspapers. As well as the resource box service, staff at Watford Museum also offer:

  • Supported visits to Watford Museum
  • Heritage trail tailored to each group, including a Victorian Watford trail
  • Assistance with projects and images on local history and environment
  • Services of museum's Heritage Officer who has Qualified Teacher Status, up to date CRB check and Advanced Safeguarding and First Aid Training
  • Risk Assessments for all activities
