Watford schoolgirl, Lara Omeroglu was named Musician of the Year at the weekend by the BBC.
The hard fought contest featured the cream of young musicians from around the UK and Lara, 16 from Purcell School in Watford, was one of a handful of talented contestants who appeared in the final on Sunday at the Millennium Centre in Cardiff, broadcasted live on BBC 2.
Praised by judges for her piano recital, Lara was crowned 2010 winner, fighting off competition from a range of different musical styles and performances.
