Local amateur photographers were asked to photograph their favourite buildings in Watford, Bushey, Kings Langley, Abbots Langley, Rickmansworth and surrounding areas in the summer or 2014. The competition attracted 120 entries, which were judged by a representative of each organisation.

The winner is +Lynda Bullock for her photo of the High Street, and the runner up is Malcolm Till for his photo of St Jude’s Church, Market Street under stormy skies. Both of the winning entries together with a selection of the other 118 entries are being sold at the Women’s Centre shop in Market Street (http://goo.gl/T0BRFl) to help raise funds for the domestic abuse charity until the 4th October. Each framed photo is for sale between £20.00 and £30.00 each, with each photographer donating a percentage of the sale price to the Women's Centre

Diane Richardson, Enterprise Manager for the Women’s Centre said that “the completion has generated a lot of interest in architecture in and around Watford, with many of the competitors realised that there are some beautiful buildings in the town saying that for the first time in years they looked at the buildings in Watford, rather than just passed them by”. She went on to say that following the success of the first completion a much larger competition is planned starting in October.
