Watford Borough Council is encouraging everyone to wear their World Book Day costumes again for the Big Wordfest Launch Parade this Saturday, 11 March.
Come and meet Peter Rabbit, Alice in Wonderland, Little Red Riding Hood and other favourites at Watford Museum. Craft activities start at 11am before the Big Wordfest parade through town at 12.30pm.
Elected Mayor of Watford, Dorothy Thornhill said: “Do dress up as your favourite book character and join our Big Wordfest Parade on Saturday. We’d love to see you there.
“Last year’s Wordfest was such a delight with its Roald Dahl theme and Shakespeare celebrations; we wanted to bring the fun back again.
“This year we are igniting our passion for words, and with more partners and more events, you won’t want to miss out on the excitement.
“We have something for all ages and interests, from children’s activities to improvised opera and writing competitions for all ages, right up to book club and author events for adults. Don’t miss the fantastic range of theatre either.”
