This is a restored 18th century working flour mill, water-powered and producing flour (subject to demand for flour and weather conditions). The museum has 3 small galleries housing local artefacts, from Roman times to present day. Special exhibitions are held. There is milling every week on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Sunday afternoons. Craft demonstrations and special events are held during summer weekends, including cream teas on Summer Sundays. School parties are welcome, and group visits can be made by appointment. Admission is free for children, £2.50 for adults, and donations are welcome. The museum is the home of the Welwyn Hatfield Museum Service. Opening hours: Tuesdays to Thursdays 10.00am-5.00pm; Sundays and Bank Holidays 2.00pm-5.00pm. Closed on Friday and Saturday.
