People looking to start their own business or expand an existing company in Westminster can now access valuable resources as part of new service being launched this month.
Business Information Points (BIPs) will available at Pimlico and Paddington Libraries and will offer access to the latest market research, as well as useful databases such as Experian, Kompass Worldwide and Mintel. This service offers essential support to business across Westminster and there will be dedicated suites in libraries with free computers, business publications and trade directories.
These two new BIP's are important addition to the business services already available in the city, which includes the Westminster Reference Library. Over 20,000 people have accessed the online business information provided by libraries, whilst more than 2000 have used the information points so far. Pimlico and Paddington libraries will also be holding monthly networking events for meeting new contacts, training and advice.
Cllr Brian Connell, Westminster Council's cabinet member for business, enterprise and skills, said: "The Business Information Points are an invaluable resource to anyone looking to get ahead in business. There is a wealth of information on offer, with all the latest online tools and resources available. The two we have up and running have already provided thousands of people with information. Many of the most successful businesses in the country were born in times of adversity – and the BIP’s are part of Westminster’s efforts to ensure that many of these are started in our City”
