The famous Notting Hill Carnival will return to the streets of West London once again this year over the bank holiday weekend. It is the largest festival celebration of it's type across Europe and has been held since 1966!
Over 1 million people are expected to come along and experience the sights and sounds at Notting Hill Carnival. It features over 20 miles of vibrant costumes, mouthwatering Caribbean food stalls, 40 static sound systems and over 40,000 volunteers.
Notting Hill Carnival first started life as a local festival organised by the West Indian community in the area. It now attracts millions of visitors from across the world, all wanting a piece of London's most exciting annual event. Amongt some of the best attractions are the stunning floats and the traditional sounds of steel drum bands.
This year's carnival will kick off on Saturday with the steel band competition and on Sunday (Kids Day) costume prizes will be awarded. The main parade will take place on Bank Holiday Monday beginning on Great Western Road. Join in the party!
