Westminster Council are urging resident and local communities who are planning street parties in celebration of the Royal Wedding to apply early.

There are less than 100 days to go until tPrince William and Kate Middleton's wedding on April 29th and you can receive free advice from the council on how to hold a street party on the day itself or on the Bank Holiday weekend.

The council can offer advice on alternative routes and emergency access for closed roads, arranging with neighbours to park elsewhere for a day and whether licenses are needed. The special events team can also help you to inform and involve the wider community, so that everyone can enjoy this special event!

Leader of Westminster Council Cllr Colin Barrow said "The Royal wedding is one of the most important events in the country's history, and we want as many people as possible to join in.

"We expect thousands of people will want to come together in Westminster and for our residents and local communities to follow the great British tradition of holding a street party.

"We are working with the Metropolitan Police, Transport for London, Royal Parks and other agencies to assist the happy couple's wishes for a celebration to ensure that their day is memorable for everyone.”
