After a huge number of nominations the winners have now been announced for the Active Westminster Awards.
The Active Westminster Awards recognise individuals and organisations who have truly made a difference to their communities through sports or physical activity. The winners received their awards at a ceremony on 19th November at Lords Cricket Ground. The awards were presented by Karen Pickering MBE, a former Olympic swimmer.
The winners of the Active Westminster Awards were announced in 11 different categories and are as follows:
Community Sports Club - Westminster Boating Base
Champion of the Future - Melita Emanual Carr
London Youth Games Award - Kadeem McFarlane
Coach/Community Exercise Instructor Award - Valdas Dambrauskas, London Tigers
Active Volunteer Award - PC Paul Reading, Little Venice Boxing
Active Resident Award - Derek Peel, Fernhead Rovers
Physical Activity, Health and Wellbeing Award - The Abbey Centre,
Jubilee Hall Trust
Inclusive and Active Award - Little Venice Sports Centre
Active School Award - Hallfield Primary School
Active Place Award - Paddington Recreation Ground
Outstanding Contribution Award - London Tigers
