A team of urban design specialists from HTA have been appointed to work with Pimlico residents to revamp a local estate.
HTA have previously worked on successful sustainable housing schemes in the UK, Australia, China, India and Europe. HTA are also working with residents living on the Brunel estate in Westbourne Park. The company was chosen following a selective process involving Westminster council and the estate's residents, with a view to improving homes and the area as a whole.
The estate was originally built in the 1930's and is one of Westminster's oldest housing estates. Residents on Pimlico are working closely in partnership with HTA and the council in this £10 regeneration scheme, which is a part of a wider programme to revamp a number of areas in Westminster.
Cllr Philippa Roe, Westminster Council’s cabinet member for housing, said: “Over the next few months, HTA will be talking to as many residents as possible to find out what improvements they would like to see in their estate. This regeneration scheme is still at an early stage, but I firmly believe this is exciting opportunity to improve this part of Westminster.”
