It's the beginning of the festival season and West End Live will be bringing some of the UK's best theatrical talent right to your doorstep. West End Live is the world's largest free theatre festival and more than 200,000 people are expected to attend this year.
The festival will be held in Leicester Square on 19th and 20th June and it promises to be an unforgettable weekend for everyone who comes along. West End Live recently won The People's Choice "Music Event of the Year" award, as well as the 2009 Visit London Award.
Last year West End Live played host to a selection of world class acts which included Chicago, Jersey Boys, Wicked, Dirty Dancing, We Will Rock You, Avenue Q, Thriller Live, Oliver! and Priscilla Queen of the Desert. This year the line up is bigger and better than ever before, bringing a huge selection of top productions out into the open.
Nica Burns, president of the Society of London Theatre, said: "London has the best theatre in the world and West End Live is a fantastic opportunity for people to sample some of the West End's most popular shows for free"
As well as live entertainment from some of the world's best theatrical productions, the festival will also feature a range of family friendly activities, which have been organised by Westminster City Council. There will be something on offer for visitors of all ages including interactive exhibitions from London's leading museums and art galleries.
