Westminster Abbey has released a brand new app ahead of the Royal Wedding of Prince William and Miss Catherine Middleton on Friday 29th April.
The app, Abbey 3D, gives users the opportunity to virtually tour Westminster Abbey and is available on Android, iPhone and iPad. It features a fantastic internal scaled replica of the abbey to enable users to feel as they were visiting the church from wherever they happen to be at that moment.
Abbey 3D uses state of the art laser scanning technology combined with 3D modelling. The app begins at the Great West Doot, the very same spot where Catherine Middleton will begin her walk down the aisle with her father to the High Altar.
Flashing up along the way are "hotspots"of information featuring key areas and points of interest in the abbey, which includes the Grave of the Unknown Warrior. This information will explain the significance of these features on the day of the wedding. The app also has archive pictures and biographies of key participants at the Royal Wedding, as well as a cross-section birds-eye view showing the layout of the church.
