I received an email this week from a couple who are starting a new concert wind band in Worle, Weston-super-Mare. The first rehearsal will be on the 14th January 2010 and they have asked us to help spread the word.
Basically, Julia and Andy Ractliffe are looking for brass, wind and percussion players of grade 5+ standard to join them at 8pm on Thursday evenings at Worle Community Centre, Lawrence Road, Worle. The musical emphasis will be firmly based on swing, stage & screen and 20th century pops. Sounds fabulous!
