evening a great success
Anne Swithinbank from BBC Radio 4’s ‘Gardeners’ Question Time’, was at Sanders Garden World on Thursday, October 14 to fundraise for Greenfingers – the gardening charity that creates ‘magical’ gardens at children’s hospices.
Peter Burks, General Manager of the garden centre, which is located at Brent Knoll, said: “We were absolutely thrilled Anne was able to join us for our fundraising evening. It was a really good evening and was the perfect opportunity for people to meet and talk to one of the country’s top gardeners.
“The event, which was called ‘An Evening with Anne Swithinbank’, consisted of a talk about Anne’s life in the gardening profession and how we garden today. This was followed by a special question and answer session with Anne and a panel of gardening experts.”
Anne is very well-known for her appearances on BBC TV’s ‘Gardeners’ World’ and as a regular panellist on BBC Radio 4’s Gardeners’ Question Time.
She said: “I loved being at Sanders Garden World to talk to people about the way we garden today. I wanted to support Greenfingers and really enjoyed myself.”
